Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership

The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership is designed for educators who already hold a master鈥檚 degree and want to become effective school leaders. Aligned with Florida鈥檚 Level 1 Educational Leadership certification requirements, the program provides rigorous preparation in supervision, school operations, instructional leadership, and organizational development. Students gain the skills needed to positively influence student learning and lead school improvement efforts.
 

What you will learn

Students build advanced knowledge in leadership theory, school law, organizational development, data-driven decision making, instructional supervision, and strategies for creating equitable learning environments. Coursework is designed in collaboration with district leadership experts and the Florida Department of Education.

What to expect

Students can expect a practitioner-focused program centered on real-world leadership challenges, district-aligned coursework, and preparation for Florida Level 1 administrative certification. The degree includes collaboration with experienced school leaders, opportunities to apply learning in authentic settings, and structured guidance to develop the competencies required for effective school leadership. Admission is available in fall and spring.
