Publix Super Market opened the doors to its newest store at the University of South Florida 鈥 the company鈥檚 first location on a college campus and a major milestone for the university.
USF System President Judy Genshaft, along with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Publix executives helped kick off the grand opening ceremony.
鈥淥ver the past decade, we have worked hard to transform the 最新天美传媒 into a vibrant living-learning environment that fully supports the needs of our students, both inside and outside the classroom,鈥 said President Genshaft. 鈥淲e are so pleased to officially open the Publix store at USF, the first of its kind on a college campus, marking the beginning of a transformational new chapter.鈥
Located at Fletcher Ave. and USF Palm Dr., near The Village, USF鈥檚 newly completed residence hall community, the grocery store is easily accessible to the more than 6,300 students currently living on the Tampa campus. Complete with a dedicated parking lot, the store is also available to the general public and provides USF鈥檚 commuter students a convenient place to do their shopping.
Publix also offers employment opportunities for students who live on or near campus, including for those who may not have a vehicle of their own. Of the more than 140 associates working at the new location, more than 50 are USF students.
The 28,000 sq. ft. store features full-service floral and seafood departments, sushi and Publix subs; a favorite among USF students, faculty and staff. Along with the usual offerings, patrons will also see a variety of USF-related products available for purchase.
