BIOGRAPHY
Bianca Siegenthaler (M.A., 最新天美传媒) is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Communication at the 最新天美传媒 and a Research Trainee at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As a health communication scholar, her research examines how patient-clinician interactions and interprofessional collaboration influence patient, family, and provider healthcare experiences. Using qualitative methods, her work identifies communicative challenges within clinical environments and translates those findings into practical, clinically relevant strategies to improve patient care and team collaboration. Alongside teaching undergraduate students at USF, Bianca also teaches healthcare professionals at Johns Hopkins All Children鈥檚 Hospital, including physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, pharmacists, and psychologists. Her teaching focuses on communication skills/topics such as perspective-taking, navigating competing goals, difficult conversations, patient uncertainty and emotions, and digital communication in healthcare settings. Ultimately, through collaboration with healthcare partners, she seeks to bridge health communication and medicine to foster a more humanistic and collaborative approach to care.
