In an unused room at the Google offices in Manhattan, a theater troupe has gathered
to rehearse a new play written by an advanced AI named "Denise." In an art that relies
so substantially upon our human-ness, what does it mean to cede the stage to artificial
intelligence? Who are we when reflected by the intelligence we鈥檝e created?

Dance最新天美传媒 is excited to showcase our students鈥 talent and skill in this Fall Dance
Concert. Investigating the question "How do we determine if a technology gives us
more than it costs us?", DanceUSF faculty choreographers will reflect and create newly
devised works performed by USF dance students in this fall production. Additionally,
there will be a new work created by a nationally recognized choreographer.
Featuring choreography from Jennifer Archibald, Andrew Carroll, Michael Foley, Kelly King, Sadie Lehmker, and guest artist Christian Denice.

The Clockmaker's Daughter - Fall Musical

In the late 19th century, Spindlewood was home to a Clockmaker. A master of his craft,
his work lauded far across the seas. Distraught after the untimely death of his daughter,
Abraham Reed sets about capturing her image in clockwork; building a young girl so
unquestionably real that even he is unable to fathom her making. On winding her, Abraham
realises he has created something somewhat more than a machine. Constance, as he names
her, can think鈥 Terrified of being discovered, Abraham gives Constance one rule; to
remain hidden from the outside world at all times. But the young creation, full of
child-like curiosity and frustrated with her limited existence, quickly forms other
plans. All tales must end. Ours does so in Present Day, where a statue of a young
girl stands, fixed, in the middle of Spindlewood鈥檚 town square鈥

Join BFA in Dance Seniors as they share their Fall BFA Senior Projects. Each work
represents the students鈥 choreographic vision. Join us to see the stunning, inventive
work that these emerging dance artists have created. Adapting on Monday will feature
ten works from current BFA Dance seniors.
And come back on Tuesday Dec 1st for Reforming to see the second showcase featuring
ten additional new works by the rest of the Dance BFA senior class!

Dead Man's Cell Phone - Spring Play

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet caf茅. A stranger at the next table who
has had enough. And a dead man 鈥 with a lot of loose ends. So begins Dead Man鈥檚 Cell
Phone, a wildly imaginative new comedy by MacArthur 鈥淕enius鈥 Grant recipient and Pulitzer
Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl. A work about how we memorialize the dead 鈥 and how that
remembering changes us 鈥 it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions
about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed
world.
