School of Aging Studies alumna shares work at Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series

Melissa Castora-Binkley, PhD, senior research director at the Pharmacy Quality Alliance, returned to USF to share her expertise on the Medication Therapy Management program under Medicare Part D, which serves older adults enrolled in Medicare. The presentation was part of the School of Aging Studies and Florida Policy Exchange Center on Aging Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series.

Castora-Binkley earned her doctorate in gerontology from ý in 2015. Over the past 16 years, she has built an accomplished career in health research and policy, health care quality measure development and evaluation, and quality improvement. She received extensive training in measurement science while working with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where she helped develop and evaluate quality measures.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Debra Dobbs, PhD, director of the School of Aging Studies, and Lindsay Peterson, PhD, associate research professor in the School of Aging Studies, presented Castora-Binkley with a plaque recognizing her outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to promoting research benefiting older adults.
