USF鈥檚 fully online Master of Arts in Reading Education prepares educators to deepen their expertise in literacy instruction, support diverse readers and writers, and develop as literacy leaders.

Designed for practicing or prospective educators, the program connects current research with the real questions teachers face in classrooms and schools.

The program takes a comprehensive, research-informed view of literacy instruction. Students examine reading and writing development alongside disciplinary, critical, digital, media, and AI literacies, with attention to the varied social, cultural, and educational contexts in which literacy learning occurs. Throughout the program, educators learn to make informed instructional decisions, support a wide range of learners, and help students engage thoughtfully and critically with texts and information.
