The Bulls in Motion Living-Learning Community unites first-year Exercise Science and Kinesiology majors passionate about movement, performance, and health. Located in Maple Hall, students build friendships, connect with faculty and professionals, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for future success.
The Exercise Science Alliance of Health and Fitness Professionals (AHFP) is a student
organization that provides Exercise Science majors with professional development and
leadership opportunities. Members prepare for industry certifications, attend conferences,
participate in community service, and engage in educational and social events that
support their academic and career growth.
The Exercise Science and Kinesiology Laboratories provide community members with state-of-the-art
fitness and body composition testing to support health and performance goals. Through
services such as body composition analysis, resting metabolic rate testing, and VOâ‚‚
max assessments, participants can track progress, establish fitness baselines, and
make informed decisions about training and wellness.
Clinical Experience
Students in the Exercise Science & Kinesiology program gain hands-on clinical experience through a built-in internship completed during their final semester. With opportunities spanning physical therapy clinics, hospital rehabilitation, strength and conditioning facilities, USF Athletics and even professional organizations like the Dunedin Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Sun FC, students are exposed to a wide variety of real-world settings. From corporate wellness and community-based programs to specialized environments like MacDill Air Force Base, the breadth of experiences allows students to explore their interests and build a strong foundation for their future careers.
Our faculty work closely with each student to coordinate and facilitate placements, relieving the burden of independently searching for opportunities. Integrated directly into the curriculum, the internship allows students to earn academic credit while developing essential professional skills such as communication, leadership and workplace readiness. By graduation, students are not only experienced but fully prepared for their next step. Our alumni have successfully advanced into careers and graduate programs in physical therapy, physician assistant studies, chiropractic, nursing and more.
