By Georgia Jackson, College of Arts and Sciences

For the second consecutive year, the 最新天美传媒 received top honors from the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP), with two faculty members from the Department of Psychology and one alumnus earning distinguished and special-selection awards.

U.S. News & World Report previously ranked USF's industrial-organizational psychology program No. 3 in the U.S. and No. 1 in the state of Florida, making it USF鈥檚 highest-ranked program and contributing to USF's overall reputation for top-tier graduate studies. Led by Professor Georgia Chao, the program is known for producing high-impact research, particularly in the area of team dynamics, occupational health psychology and psychological measurement.

PAUL SPECTOR

Paul Spector

Distinguished Professor Emeritus Paul Spector of the Department of Psychology received the Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award for his pioneering methodological research on common method bias and his influential scholarship on workplace stress, mistreatment and misbehavior and worker health and wellbeing.

"It is a recognition that the work I have done matters to my field,鈥 said Spector, who also teaches courses in the Muma College of Business. 鈥淪o much of what we publish doesn鈥檛 seem to have much impact, but awards like this show that others in the field, both those willing to write letters of support and those on the awards committee, see that the work has value.鈥

Spector鈥檚 win marks the first time a university has claimed this particular award two years in a row. Past recipients from 最新天美传媒 include Distinguished University Professor Tammy Allen (2025), Distinguished Professor Steve W. J. Kozlowski (2017) and Professor Emeritus Walter Borman (2003).

STEVE W. J. KOZLOWSKI

The award went to Georgia Chao in 2017.

DAVID DORSEY

David Dorsey

USF alumnus David Dorsey (鈥97) received the Wayne Cascio Scientist-Practitioner Award for making meaningful contributions to both the science and practice of industrial-organizational psychology.

鈥淚t is truly an honor to receive this distinguished award,鈥 said Dorsey, vice president of business development at the Human Resources Research Organization. 鈥淭o me, it represents the ongoing challenge and privilege of balancing scientific rigor with the realities of applied practice.

鈥淚 am deeply grateful for the brilliant colleagues, mentors and collaborators who have shaped my career, beginning at USF. Their influence, support and intellectual partnership have been invaluable, and I hope my work reflects contributions that meaningfully advance our field.鈥

Founded in 1982, the SIOP is the leading society for industrial-organizational psychology students, psychologists and researchers. Each year, it recognizes excellence in professional achievement through a range of awards.
