Dylan Serpas is a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student. He completed his Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of La Verne and Master's in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. His research interests have focused on using clinical health psychology to examine psychosocial and bio-behavioral mechanisms to health disparities among racial/ethnic and sexual and gender minorities. He is particularly interested in the role that such factors have in chronic disease management, risk, and incidence.

Elisa Carsten is a PhD student in USF's clinical psychology program. She completed her Bachelor's degree at Michigan State University. She is interested in the relationships between sociocultural norms, minority stress, and mental health problems among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer individuals. Her research investigates sources of potential measurement bias of diagnostic criteria among sexual minority populations.

Alondra L. Rodr铆guez P茅rez joined the I-CARE Lab Summer of 2023. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at USFSP in 2024 and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Social Work and Public Health. 

Aside from being an Assistant Lab Coordinator for the I-CARE Lab she is also a Senior Childwelfare Case Manager and a Pharmacy Technician at a nearby hospital. Alondra is interested in health disparities, safe sex initiatives and public health advocacy.

Comfort Babalola is a research assistant in the I-CARE lab. Comfort graduated from the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Clinical Psychology, along with a minor in English-Creative Writing. Comfort鈥檚 research interests include cross-cultural identity, intersectionality, psychopathology, and social and gender norms. Comfort is interested in investigating how certain psychopathology manifests and affects individuals from marginalized communities.

Jesus Morales is an Assistant Lab Coordinator for the I-CARE Lab. He's currently a master's student in the Psychological Sciences program. Jesus earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Development and Family Sciences. His current study interests include aggression, stigma, and coping

Adriana Torres-Juan is a Clinical Psychology PhD student at the University of South Florida, and she received her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2023. Her research focuses on sexuality and gender minorities and the various factors that impact this community's mental health, including minority stress, political climate, and discrimination. Some of the mental health aspects she investigates within this population include depression, anxiety, perceived safety, and suicidality.

 Serena Wasilewski has a Master鈥檚 degree in Psychological Sciences from the University of South Florida. Her research interests include intersectional stigma, discrimination, and health-related outcomes, particularly among youth who identify as LGBTQ+. Currently, she is employed in a community hospital as a research coordinator for graduate medical education. She aspires to obtain a doctoral degree in public health and plans to pursue a career in academia.

Riley Tien joined the I-CARE Lab in March 2025. He completed his B.S. in Psychology at Drexel University in 2023 and is currently working at the Brigham Women's Hospital as a research assistant. His research interests include health-related outcomes from experiencing stigma and trauma, trauma-informed care, and healthcare equity and accessibility for racial/ethnic and sexual/gender minority groups. He is particularly interested in exploring how improving patient-clinician interactions to be more equitable and accommodating can contribute to better health outcomes for patients with minoritized identities and/or complex healthcare needs. 

Genelle Leo is an undergraduate research assistant who joined the I-CARE Lab in 2025. She is a dual degree student majoring in Psychology and Biomedical Sciences, with a minor in Public Health. She is interested in mental health, prevention-focused research, and understanding how social and systemic factors influence health outcomes. Genelle plans to pursue medical school and become a physician-researcher, using her work to advocate for mental health and reduce systemic barriers in healthcare.

Simone Mingus joined the I-CARE lab as a Research Assistant in March of 2026. Simone is a third-year undergraduate student at USF. She intends to pursue a graduate degree in social work after finishing her BA in Psychology.

Simone is interested in the wellbeing of sexual and gender minorities, and how this may be influenced by media and experiences of discrimination.

Rylie Roberts is an undergraduate student majoring in psychology. She joined the I-CARE lab as a Research Assistant in March of 2026. She was previously employed as a licensed practical nurse, caring for and working with individuals with neurodegenerative disorders.

Her research interests include factors that impact mental health, particularly in sexuality and gender minorities, deaf psychology, disability studies, and health stigma. She plans to obtain a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Kiley Williams is an undergraduate student at the 最新天美传媒, Tampa campus, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Biological Health Sciences and a minor in Deaf Studies. 

As a pre-medical student passionate about emergency medicine, she joined the I-CARE Lab in January 2026. Her research interests include how psychosocial stressors, mental health, and health disparities, including communication barriers, affect patient outcomes in trauma and emergency care settings.

Paula Gorokhovsky is an undergraduate student at the 最新天美传媒 majoring in Psychology with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. She serves as a Research Assistant in the I-Care Lab at USF, where she contributes to research focused on evidence-based and inclusive practices.

Paula is passionate about working with children and is especially interested in understanding behavior through a scientific lens to support individuals and families. She is committed to advancing compassionate, culturally responsive care through research and applied practice.
