Abhishek Borah is an associate professor of marketing at the 最新天美传媒鈥檚 Muma College of Business. His research examines how emerging technologies, digital platforms, and information shape consumer behavior, firm strategy, and financial markets, with particular expertise in social media, artificial intelligence, textual data, and computational methods.

Borah earned his PhD in marketing from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he specialized in quantitative marketing and econometrics. He also holds a master's degree in applied operational research from the University of Delhi, where he ranked first in his university, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Prior to joining USF, he was a tenured associate professor of marketing at INSEAD. He previously served on the faculty of the University of Washington鈥檚 Foster School of Business and as a visiting professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Before entering academia, he worked at McKinsey & Company.

His research has appeared in leading journals across marketing, management, and information systems, including Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Strategic Management Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and International Journal of Research in Marketing. His research and perspectives have also been featured in outlets including the Harvard Business Review, Nature, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fast Company, and Ad Age.

Borah has received several major honors for his research. He was named a Marketing Science Institute (MSI) Scholar in 2024 and an MSI Young Scholar in 2019. His research has received the Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award, the MSI Robert D. Buzzell Best Paper Award, and the AMA TechSIG Lazaridis Prize. His work has also been recognized as a finalist for several major awards in marketing.

His current research focuses on generating managerial insights from large-scale unstructured and textual data and understanding how marketing-related information affects consumers, firms, and investors. Methodologically, his work draws on text analytics, natural language processing, machine learning, econometrics, and causal inference. His broader research program increasingly examines how artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are transforming marketing and business decision-making.

Borah is also the author of "Mine Your Language: Influence, Engage, Predict", published by Penguin Random House India in 2024. The book examines how organizations can use language, text mining, and emerging analytical technologies to generate business insights and better understand consumers.

In the classroom, Borah teaches marketing strategy and marketing analytics and has taught undergraduate, MBA, and executive audiences. He has received multiple recognitions for teaching, including Dean's Commendations for Excellence in Teaching at INSEAD and Undergraduate Faculty of the Year at the University of Washington鈥檚 Foster School of Business.
