Rob D’Avanzo serves as an assistant professor of instruction in the School of Marketing and Innovation and a member of the Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management & Sustainability. He teaches courses in supply chain management, global commerce, logistics and physical distribution management, and operations management.
D'Avanzo joined ×îÐÂÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ in Fall 2025, bringing extensive academic and industry experience. Prior to USF, he spent five years as a professor and co-director of the Global Supply Chain Management program at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Before transitioning to academia, D'Avanzo had a distinguished 30-year career in business. From 1990 to 2019, he held various leadership roles at Accenture, focusing on consulting, outsourcing, MBA recruiting, and staff training. During his tenure, he supported over 60 companies across diverse industries. In supply chain management, he led teams in sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, customer service, inventory management, forecasting, supply planning, and ERP implementation. Beyond supply chain, he spearheaded initiatives in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organizational design, team building, finance and accounting, and market entry strategy. His leadership contributed to over $2 billion in revenue for Accenture. He continues to consult on a part-time basis through his own firm, D’Avanzo Consulting, LLC.
A recognized thought leader, D'Avanzo has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences, published numerous articles, and co-authored the book Supply Chain Directions for a New North America.
D'Avanzo holds an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology in Washington, D.C., and dual bachelor’s degrees in Transportation and Distribution Management and Operations Management from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
