Robert Hooker is director of the Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management & Sustainability. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in supply chain management and marketing and was the recipient of an Outstanding Faculty Award in 2017 and the USF Gold Medal in 2018.  He received a Fulbright award in 2016 鈥 becoming the first assistant professor from the Muma College of Business to earn this award 鈥 and researched and taught at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden.  He is a senior faculty fellow at USF鈥檚 Global and National Security Institute, as well as an affiliated faculty member at the TECO Clean Energy Research Center.

His research focuses on supply chain management. Past and current research is on sustainable supply management, omni-channel, supply chain resilience and business continuity, open innovation and reverse logistics. He has been published in numerous academic journals, including the Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Purchasing & Supply Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, and MIS Quarterly Executive, among others. His research is carried out in partnership with globally recognized companies, and he regularly speaks to research and industry audiences. Hooker has also served as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on numerous federally funded programs with various government entities on such topics as risk and resilience, logistics optimization, and acquisition, technology, and logistics.    

Hooker earned a PhD in business administration, an MBA in marketing and supply chain management and a bachelor's degree with double majors in finance and risk management and insurance, all from Florida State University. He taught at Florida State University, prior to joining USF and he previously worked in corporate finance and marketing. He remains closely connected with industry through various professional organizations and advisory board positions.
