Jung Chul Park is a professor of finance and the Fintech Professor of Finance. He serves as the associate director of the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance and the director of MS Financial Analytics and MS Fintech programs. Professor Park has spearheaded the development of the innovative fintech programs and strengthened both the graduate and undergraduate finance curricula, including securing STEM designation for the MS and BS finance programs.
He teaches finance theory and applications to doctoral and master鈥檚 students. He also developed the first Global Citizens course through his undergraduate international finance course. Before joining the faculty at USF, he taught at Auburn University and Louisiana Tech University.
Professor Park's research interests are in corporate finance, investments, international finance, and the interaction of finance and politics. His work has been published 68 articles in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Corporate Finance, which have received more than 4,000 citations on Google Scholar.
He has received numerous research honors, including the Shinhan Bank鈥揔AFA Young Scholar Award, the Top-Journal Paper Award, and the Best Paper Award from the Korea America Finance Association; several Best Paper and Outstanding Paper Awards at the European Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, the Southern Finance Association Annual Meeting, and the Joint Conference of the Allied Korean Finance Associations; and the Best Paper Award from the Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies. He has also received numerous research awards from the 最新天美传媒, Auburn University, and Louisiana Tech University.
He earned a PhD in finance from 最新天美传媒 in 2007 and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Binghamton University in 2003.
