Paul Rowe serves as an assistant professor of instruction in the School of Marketing and Innovation. He teaches courses in supply chain management, quality management, and logistics. His teaching emphasizes experiential learning, applied problem solving, and connecting business concepts to real-world challenges.
Before joining USF, Rowe taught undergraduate and MBA courses at several universities, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, the University of North Texas, the University of Louisville, and Valparaiso University. His academic experience includes operations management, supply chain management, logistics, project management, and business analytics.
Prior to entering academia, Rowe held engineering, operations, and purchasing leadership positions with companies including Motorola, Newell-Rubbermaid, and Solectron. His industry experience includes manufacturing, procurement, supplier management, inventory, logistics, process improvement, and operations strategy. This experience informs his practice-oriented approach to teaching and helps students understand how operations and supply chain concepts are applied in organizations.
Rowe earned a PhD in industrial and systems engineering from Mississippi State University, a master's degree in operations research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA in operations and supply chain management and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering with honors from Purdue University. He is a Certified Purchasing Manager and Certified in Planning and Inventory Management. His research interests include supply chain management and corporate sustainability, and his work has been published in Annals of Operations Research.
