Eddie Sanchez, Jr. is an associate professor of instruction in the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance at the 最新天美传媒. He is faculty director of the Student Managed Investment Fund and the Applied Security Analyst program. In these roles, he provides leadership in experiential finance education, mentoring students in investment research, portfolio management, and security analysis while helping prepare them for careers in the financial services industry.

Sanchez was a clinical assistant professor at Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. He was a board member and faculty advisor for the Caimanes Student Managed Equity Hedge Fund. Previously, Sanchez was an assistant professor of instruction and the director of the Bloomberg Lab at the USF Muma College of Business.

He earned a DBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Florida. He earned a master鈥檚 degree in business administration and portfolio management/security analysis from the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. He earned a master鈥檚 degree in economics from Trinity College and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Quinnipiac University.

Sanchez鈥檚 research interests are in municipal bonds, hedge funds, mutual funds, capital markets, and financial institutions. He taught executive and online MBA courses in financial statement analysis and corporate financial planning, as well as undergraduate courses in principles of investments, advanced investment analysis and management, and financial markets and institutions

Sanchez received the 2022-2023 Professor of the Year award for Outstanding Teaching in the MBA program at the Muma College of Business. He was faculty advisor for USF's Investment Club. He was a featured speaker on cryptocurrency for the Global Interdependence Center. In 2020, he co-authored, 鈥淭he Unexpected and Stickiness Behavior of Institutional Investors in Index Funds,鈥 with Junho Oh in Managerial Finance.    

Sanchez has over 20 years of experience as a hedge fund portfolio manager and securities analyst. He managed long/short technology and telecommunications portfolios at Citigroup Investments, First New York Securities, The Galleon Group, Credit Suisse, and the Blackthorn Group.
