Graduation

Dear students 鈥 please remember that applying for graduation is a requirement to complete your degree at USF.鈥

Applying for graduation is a process that begins in the semester prior to your graduation semester.  Let鈥檚 break down how it works.

You need to complete two separate applications for graduation at the department and the university levels.

  1. At the department level, you will need to visit the 鈥淎ssignments鈥 page for your major鈥檚  and find the assignment titled with your graduation semester.  This assignment will have all the necessary (and most up-to-date) information on what you need to submit to the department to get the process started.  If you have any questions about the process after reading the assignment, you can reach out to your major鈥檚 advising team.  
    Please note, this assignment is due prior to the start of your graduation semester !
  2. Once this application is submitted, you will be informed by the department whether or not you are 鈥減re-approved鈥 for graduation based on the courses you are registered for your graduation semester at the time of submitting your assignment. 
  3. If your application is 鈥減re-approved鈥, you need to apply for graduation at the university level .

Once you apply for graduation, you should keep an eye out for announcements regarding USF鈥檚 Commencement Ceremony and College of Engineering鈥檚 Induction into the Profession Ceremony. 

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING INDUCTION INTO THE PROFESSION CEREMONY

The College of Engineering Induction into the Profession Ceremony is held each spring and fall and is usually the Friday of commencement weekend. Invitations to students will be emailed in early-March to those who have applied to graduate in spring, and in early-October to those who have applied to graduate in fall. Summer graduates can contact their advisor about participation.
