International Teaching Assistants Support Workshops 

Academic Culture and Communication (ACC) Series

Join with other ITAs from different departments in a series of six weekly workshops to learn more about how to be successful in the different TA roles (grading, office hours, running labs, and teaching). The topics covered are:  

  • Communicating effectively in U.S. academic culture
  • Understanding U.S. learning and teaching approaches
  • Navigating instructor and student expectations
  • Holding productive office hours and one-on-one meetings
  • Providing clear oral and written feedback
  • Managing challenging or "sticky" situations

Workshop Dates: Fridays, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, November 13, November 20

Connections & Interactions with Undergraduate Students

Collaboration: 1-on-1 Practice with Speech Pathology undergraduate students

Meet individually with an undergraduate student from the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) for flexible conversation practice, scheduled around your availability.
