Residential Education seeks Resident Assistants (RAs) and Community Managers (CMs) with strong critical thinking, helping, and reflection skills who effectively promote personal growth via Rocky Talks and educational initiatives. Furthermore, Residential Education seeks individuals committed to building thriving communities rooted in student success, student learning, and inclusion.

Below is the selection timeline for RAs and CMs applying to serve in these employment positions for the 2027-2028 academic year. This timeline is subject to change.

Mandatory Asynchronous Informational Session

By Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 11:59 pm, all 2027-28 RA/CM candidates will need to complete a mandatory, asynchronous informational session and the associated quiz in the This course will be available on October 14, 2026. The module concludes with a quiz that must be completed. We strongly recommend completing this informational session prior to submitting your application as it will provide useful insights to inform your application!

Workshop Week Session Registration Deadline
Deadline for RA and CM finalists to register for one Workshop Week Session. 

Select dates between January 20, 2027 through February 4, 2027 

Workshop Week for RA and CM Finalists
RA and CM finalists will register by a specific date (TBD) to attend one session. Workshop Week sessions are anticipated to occur at a variety of different times during this date range. We do not yet know the length of these sessions. They will occur face-to-face for approximately 30 to 90 minutes. Finalists only need to participate in one session.

A Workshop Week session is Residential Education鈥檚 version of an interview. It is the final step of the selection process that requires candidates to complete one or more activities as discussed in the informational session.

Participants who arrive late to their workshop session will be disqualified from the selection process. Failure to attend one of these Workshop Week sessions in their entirety will disqualify finalists from the selection process.

Late-February 2027 to Mid- March 2027

RA and CM Finalists Notified
Latest that RA and CM candidates are notified of their status in the selection process.

Either April 2, 2027 OR April 16, 2027

2027-2028 Residential Education Student Staff Kickoff
Mandatory kickoff for all 2027-2028 RAs and CMs.
