2026 E-Insights Report
Percentage of Households Receiving Social Security Income
- Tampa Bay consistently reports one of the highest percentages of households with Social Security income among all MSAs, maintaining levels around 38–40% over the decade. This reflects the area’s large retiree population and its continued role as a preferred destination for older adults.
- Miami and Jacksonville also show relatively high proportions of households with Social
Security income, indicating similar demographic structures with a significant aging population. - In contrast, Austin, Dallas, and Raleigh-Durham record the lowest percentages, reflecting younger, more workforce-oriented populations and rapidly growing economies driven by employment rather than retirement income.
